Also contributes to DNA double-strand break repair by non-homologous end joining and homologous recombination. Has both template-dependent and template-independent (terminal transferase) DNA polymerase activities . Has also a 5'-deoxyribose-5-phosphate lyase (dRP lyase) activity.
