Function |
Homologous recombination repressor that functions as a poly(ADP-ribose) (PAR) reader regulating DNA damage response and PARP inhibition. Once recruited to DNA lesions via DNA-, in a PAR-dependent mechanism, stimulates PARP1 activity. Binds preferentially ssDNA and inhibits EXO1-mediated resection, probably through a PAR-independent DNA-binding mechanism.
